  • Fred Whiteley

    Fred Whiteley Owner/Funeral Director/Manager NJ Lic. No. 4116

    Fred Whiteley has been an active member of the funeral profession since 1987, when he began working for a local funeral home in his hometown in Middlesex County. He served his apprenticeship with a Toms River funeral home while attending the prestigious American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City, where he graduated with honors and served as President of his class. After becoming a licensed Funeral Director, he owned and operated a funeral home in Middlesex County for nearly twenty years until deciding to return to Ocean County. He is a 35 year member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and is currently a 3rd Degree Member at Our Lady of the Pines Council 9852, Whiting, and the Msgr. John F. Brady 4th Degree Assembly, South Amboy. He was honored by the Toms River Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow. In 2016, he was invested as a Knight in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and was recently promoted to the rank of Knight Commander. He was appointed by NJ Governor James McGreevey to a three year term on the New Jersey State Board of Mortuary Science in 2003, serving that term and an additional two years until his replacement was appointed. He has been an active member of the Sayreville Association for Brain Injured Children for 45 years, has been a member of the Association's Executive Board for nearly 20 years, and has served as President since 2017. Sayreville BIC provides a six week summer camp, as well as a Saturday morning recreation program and outings for special needs children and adults.

    He is the proud father of Mary, a 2021 honors graduate of Clemson University who is currently serving as a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force; Maggie, who attends Saint John's University in Queens, NY; and Fred IV and Emma, who are students at Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River.
