Irene Young Bender

Irene Young Bender, age 86, of Forked River, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 20, 2015 at home. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she lived most of her life in Forked River. Irene was a receptionist for Dr. Bies Dental Office in Forked River for 22 years before she retired. She was a member of the Daughters of Scotia Lodge, and was proud of her Scottish heritage. Predeceased by her parents, her son John, and husband Martin; Irene is survived by her son Robert (Susan), and daughter Lesley (Tom) all of Forked River; son Peter of West Creek; and daughter Lauren (Michael) of Wisconsin. Also surviving are her 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may visit from 10:00am to 12:00noon on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Lacey Memorial Home 1022 Lacey Road Forked River, NJ 08731. A funeral service will be held at 12:00noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Good Luck Cemetery, Forked River.
